Re: Blue Sky City

$4.8 million. I need to say that again, $4.8 million just who in Hell is running the show in this city? What a complete waste of money at a time when everyone is suffering and how does this cost end up being $4.8 million? Please Jeremy Farkas, we need you to run for mayor again.

Dorn Andersen

(You aren’t the only one wondering.)

Just a quick search

Canada’s sunniest city is Medicine Hat, Alberta with 2,544 hours of sunshine per year. Calgary has 2,395 hours of sunshine per year. Five million dollars wasted over numerous years when a two minute internet search provided the answer.

Jeffrey Anderson

(We’re surprised it took a whole two minutes.)

Wasted money

Nearly $5 million and two years to come up with “Blue Sky.” How many teachers’ salaries or hip replacements or care home beds would those wasted tax dollars have paid for?

(It’s disturbing to think about.)

Pay the kids their due

As a native Calgarian, I am truly embarrassed at what our city has become. Has Calgary Economic Development & Calgary Tourism dropped off the $4.8 million paycheque to the pre-schoolers who came up with Blue Sky City? It couldn’t possibly be educated adults who spent several years of “extensive” research who came up with this. Perhaps they wanted to stay on the same maturity level as the Big Blue Playpen and the ridiculous Giant Blue Ring.

Sheila Pace

(We’re blue over it.)

Someone likes it

The city has a new slogan. I like the Blue Sky City. The reason why I like it is because the sky is clear of any clouds. It’s a good name for the City of Calgary,

Ingrid Baumann

(Ingrid, you may be alone on this one.)

Support staff deserve a raise

Will the government listen to CUPE-represented support staff and give them what they want? In a province that boasts about wealth. resources, and fiscal responsibility. Be responsible, and give the support staff a raise, at the very minimum! Has the Education Minister ever tried to help the most vulnerable students in our system learn to read or write? That’s an E.As daily task and not just for a photo op.

Jeff Blackford

(They are so important.)
