I'm just looking for some input on pricing and if they are worth the money. I know what KBB is. Just want Miata input. I'm not big on auto's but might go that way. Thanks in advance Smity http://tampa.craigslist.org/hdo/cto/4578756015.html http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/4557525459.html

First Advice, don't buy an Auto Miata. The 97 STO looks nice and is priced right but it's an auto. The 99 IMO is at least $1k too high for the mileage. You are in a great location to land a nice one. I've seen many good deals South of you in Sarasota/Naples, etc. Just have patience, cash and be ready to pounce on a nice one real quick.

Dang! Of course, of the two, go with the STO Edition auto.

It sure is clean and looks well maintained  !

I see the number plaque is on the passenger airbag , but at least it is there.

Too bad it is an automatic :( . LOVE the style of the NA as opposed to the NB.

Both are fine vehicles, but I give a nod to the early cars.

Owning an STO, I also favor them. The price is good on that one too.

Sadly, keep looking unless you can live with the auto. Good luck.

I agree, they are over priced. I have talked to the one with the hard top. The funny thing is he has lowed it 500. I offered him 5000 grand two weeks ago, his reply was " This is not the car for you then ". That was pretty funny. After he lowered it this week, I e.mailed him and offered it again, still above book, it's clean. I replied it looks to me your willing to come down some. I'm guessing he knows little about selling car's. I thinks it fun to buy and barter. He replied. Your cheap and looking for something for free and have no idea of what these car's are worth. I'm willing to sell you the car for ten grand if you promptly shove it up you a@@. I was pretty shocked he would take it like that. He was pissed. Made it even more funny. The search go's on, thanks Smitty First Advice, don't buy an Auto Miata. The 97 STO looks nice and is priced right but it's an auto. The 99 IMO is at least $1k too high for the mileage. Never understood how people take such offense to offers.

X-Man,

So if my math is right he was asking $5900 and you offered $5000?
He then lowered it to $5400 and you offered him $5000 and he told you to shove it up your arce?

I think a $5000 cash offer in person on a $5900 car is a legit offer. Not saying the seller has to take the offer but your offer isn't like some of the douche bags I have run up against where they offer you 60% of the asking price and act like cash in hand is something I have NEVER seen before. And if you already had a conversation a $5000 offer on a $5400 car over the phone/email/text is a legit offer.

I would be curious as to why the seller took the attitude.

Hereyou go. Copy and paste. After I read it a few time's to make sure I was reading in right, It was funny knowing how it just pissed him off. I saw no reason for a reply like that, but that's me lol..................I don't like unreasonably cheap people, my car would have been a great deal for you at $5400, but you seem to think I'm in a dire situation due to me lowering the price and seek to prey on that assumption by sending me a ridiculous offer, which to me is sleezy. I will not sell this car specifically to you unless you have $10,000 and are willing to promptly shove the car up your +++. Anyone else I'll be willing to negotiate with.
