Department of Defense leaders from across the joint services attended the Organic Industrial Base (OIB) Commanders & Leaders Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Meeting, hosted by Production Plant Albany, Marine Depot Maintenance Command at Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, Ga. from June 10-12. The annual event allows senior leadership to meet face-to-face as they work to modernize and adapt strategies to the advancing demands being placed on the department’s maintenance depots, shipyards, fleet readiness centers, air logistics centers and manufacturing arsenals.Attendees saw Production Plant Albany’s capabilities firsthand during an extensive tour of the organization’s facilities, attended a technology showcase hosted by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, discussed strategies and business practices, and used the forum to identify opportunities to share capabilities and solutions.

    U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Command welcomed Dee Reardon, Assistant Deputy Commandant, Installations and Logistics, to Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga., Jun. 11th and 12th. Reardon is responsible for providing long-range continuity to the department's policy, direction, and performance oversight for all installations and logistics functions at USMC bases and stations worldwide and for the operating forces across the Marine Corps. While visiting, Reardon received command briefs, met with leadership, and toured facilities. She capped off her visit by sharing a few words at the annual Organic Industrial Base Commanders and Leaders Peer-to-Peer meeting.

    Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) representatives received capabilities briefs and toured the Marine Force Storage Command (MFSC)/Consolidate Storage Program (CSP) 5G warehouse and other select storage facilities aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga. Jun. 11, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the capacity and scope of the MFSC/CSP procuring, issuing, returning, shipping, and storing of equipment.BUMED is the headquarters for the Navy Medicine enterprise. Under the leadership of the Navy surgeon general and chief, BUMED develops policy and guidance and is responsible for managing resources throughout Navy Medicine to ensure its vision for safe, patient—and family-centered care is delivered globally.

    Erin M. Kern, executive deputy, Marine Corps Logistics Command, presented Ganna E. Patten, Jr. the Commendation for Superior Civilian Service Medal on 5 June at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga. Patten was recognized for his service as the division director of the G-4 Material Compliance Division at the Marine Corps Logistics Command from March 2023 to March 2024. During this time, actions carried out under his leadership effectively supported 823 audit testing samples involving 726,719 pieces of military equipment. Congratulations and job well done Mr. Patten!

    Headquarters Group (HQ Grp), Marine Corps Logistics Command welcomed its third commanding officer and bid farewell to the outgoing commanding officer during a Change of Command ceremony at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga. on May 31, 2024.Headquarters Group was established in 2020 and provides administrative services, military training, welfare, and morale support for active-duty personnel assigned to the centers and staff sections of the LOGCOM command element. In Aug. 2022, LtCol. Michael F. Manning became the second commanding officer for HQ Grp and also had the distinction of being the first commanding officer to be board-selected for the position. Last week, Manning relinquished command to LtCol. Jason A. Paredes. Before assuming command of the Headquarters Group, Paredes was the Sustainment Branch Head at U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command. Maj. Gen. Keith D.
